Billy Parker began racing go-carts in 1990, and has gained knowledge of race cars not only through driving them, but by working on them as well. A self-taught mechanic, he served as his brother Hank’s crew chief on the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Southeast Series in 1996 and 1997 before focusing on his own driving career.

In 2001, Billy worked as a mechanic for PPC Racing and driver Jeff Green, ultimately making two of his previous Busch Series starts for the team the same year.

Prior to focusing on NASCAR late models in 2002 and 2003, Parker was a regular on the UARA tour and started three NASCAR Busch Series races, including a career best seventh-place start at Memphis in 2000. In his first and only ASA start at South Boston in 2001, Parker qualified an incredible second place and brought the car home to an impressive seventh-place finish.

In 2003, Parker competed in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series presented by Dodge, scoring five wins and five poles in six starts at the famed Hickory Motor Speedway. He led every lap in route to the checkered flag in four of his five victories and swept a pair of twin 50-lap races on March 29.

A native of Denver, N.C., Parker is the son of legendary fisherman Hank Parker and the brother of NASCAR Busch Series and Craftsman Truck Series driver, Hank Parker Jr. Continuing in his family’s tradition, Parker is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing.
